Members of the IEEE UK and Ireland IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) Chapter are invited to submit applications for consideration to be included on the Slate of Candidates for the 2025 OES Chapter Officers Election for Vice-Chair and Treasurer.
While it is ideal if candidates have some prior IEEE volunteer experience, if you are interested in supporting your chapter and do not have this particular experience within IEEE, we encourage you to explain how your previous volunteer or professional experience outside IEEE will support you to undertake the role for which you are self nominating.
It is important for all self-nominations provide a clear position statement outlining how this candidate intends to support the chapter and all its members. Position statements must be aligned with the objectives of IEEE OES.

Each role has different levels of responsibility and a different level of volunteer time commitment.
The Treasurer role supports chapter financial administration.
The Vice-Chair role supports activities and generating volunteer opportunities for a wider pool of chapter members.
Term for each Officer Role: date of election until 31 December 2026
Eligibility for all Officer Roles
· Must be an IEEE Member in good standing
· Must be a member of IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society
· Must be of IEEE Graduate Student Member, Member or Life Member, Senior Member or Senior Life Member, Fellow or Life Fellow Grade
· Must reside in either England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland or Northern Ireland
· Membership of IEEE and IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society must be up to date

Slate of Candidates for Elections
After the application deadline, the OES Chapter Election Committee will verify the eligibility and qualifications of the candidates. All applicants will be notified of the outcome.
The approved Slate of Candidates will be communicated to all UK and Ireland OES Chapter Members eligible to vote with a link to the ballot within VTools. Election voting will be open for two weeks.
