[R10 IRC] Announcement: Call for Proposals for Industry Academia Engagement Workshop

Greetings from IEEE Region 10 Industry Relations Committee 2024!

With the objective to develop a collaborative, long-lasting relationship between the Industry & Academia through research & innovation in multidisciplinary fields of Engineering, the R10 Industry Relations Committee invites proposals from Industry Relations groups of each Section / Councils under R10 for conducting Workshops on ‘Industry - Academia Engagement on Co-Innovation & Entrepreneurship’ on Industry4.0 Theme.

Workshops shall aim to raise the level of awareness of Industry 4.0 practised across the globe on higher education platforms by attaining sustainable development and achieving higher growth rates, which can be enabled through the creation, transmission, and dissemination of knowledge.

The workshops will not only promote the professional practices relevant to technical education but also motivate the faculties, students and YPs to achieve cutting-edge innovation and research work.

 

The workshops have to be designed such that it brings academia and industry together to understand on:

- Awareness building on Entrepreneurship and start-ups for Students & YPs
- Engaging in Research & co-innovation between Industry and Academia

 

The workshops shall focus on enhancing the academic and intellectual environment in the Educational Institutions by providing faculty members with enough opportunities to pursue research on Industry 4.0.

The proposed workshops, as envisaged, shall aim to create opportunities for IEEE members across R10 to interact and network with each other for the development of sustainable technical solutions for the benefit of humanity.

Topics suggested for workshops but not limited to are:

  • Big Data & Analytics,
  • AI, ML & Deep Learning,
  • Robotics & Automation,
  • Application of IoT in Industrial Automation,
  • Smart Manufacturing,
  • 3D Printing
  • Cybersecurity
  • Agile Computing for Project Management

 

The proposals must be completed and fulfil all the criteria as mentioned in the Request For Proposal (RFP) in order to be eligible for consideration for award, and a fund as per Region 10 policy will be provided by the IEEE R10 Industry Relations Committee for the selected proposals upon successful completion.

The workshops shall be organized in Face-to-Face or hybrid modesHowever, preference will be given to Face-to-Face modes.

 

Funding Limit:

·  Each selected proposal will be funded with a maximum of US$ 500 in accordance with Region 10 Funding Policy.
·  Additional funds, if required, will have to be generated by the section and /or any other source of funding.
