IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems
Special Section on "Educational Technologies for Sustainable and Expansive Learning"
Submit by March 21, 2022, Published in February 2023
The Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers (IEICE) Transactions on Information and Systems will publish a special section entitled "Educational Technologies for Sustainable and Expansive Learning" in February 2023.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, society has been changing dramatically, and we have become more reliant on ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to perform daily activities. For example, in-person learning opportunities in universities and schools were limited. Thus, various types of online learning have been implemented. Consequently, educational technology is receiving increasing attention. At the same time, advances in ICT, such as AI (Artificial Intelligence),VR/AR/MR (Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality),IoT (Internet of Things), and 5G (5th generation mobile communication system) continue to transform society. In other words, digital transformation for learning/education is indispensable. We must overcome unexpected difficult situations (e.g., natural disasters and global pandemics) and realize sustainable and expansive learning; as it is an urgent global mission.
From this social background, the IEICE Technical Committee on Educational Technology launched the special section, which widely covers the field of educational technologies and calls for papers and letters on cutting-edge research, development, and practice. All submitted papers will be subject to the same review process as papers accepted for publication in the regular issues.
We look forward to submissions from many people involved in educational technology.
