What Every Software Developer Should Know About Cybersecurity
Many software developers have received little or no formal training in cybersecurity. Many more people develop software who don't even have the title of "software developer." Software, especially Internet-connected software, is becoming more and more critical to the operation of our world. High profile hacking events keep revealing the risks of cybersecurity shortcomings. Many of these shortcomings show up repeatedly in software.
Join with this panel of four cybersecurity professionals as they discuss the problems that they repeatedly see and what they wish every software developer knew about cybersecurity.
Most of the meeting time will be reserved for an interactive Q&A session with meeting attendees.
Panelists include:
- Dr. Milos Manic - IEEE Fellow and Director of the VCU Cybersecurity Center at Virginia Commonwealth University.
- John Johnson - CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) with 23 years of experience working in various government agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of State.
- Steve Pruskowski - Security Test & Evaluation Federal Lead, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
- Mike Geipel - Principal Embedded Software Engineer at NortonLifeLock - Norton Emerging Products/Norton IoT Solutions.
