Topic: Software Engineering for Operating Multiple Robots
Speaker: Yuichi Yaguchi,
Assistant Professor,The University of Aizu
Abstract:
With the demands for self-driving cars and unmanned aerial vehicles, new-normal under the COVID-19 situation, mobile robot has great expectations that performs so many tasks by remote and autonomous. Currently, these devices are programmed with control logic for a single, almost independent robot, and are made to maneuver according to a set of rules. However, when multiple robots of different types work simultaneously, there are many more problems to be solved, such as cooperative behavior and collision avoidance. This presentation will introduce some examples of systems for using multiple UAVs and software engineering technologies for effectively controlling, maneuvering, and constructing multiple robots, such as the NEDO DRESS PROJECT, projects related to the Innovation Coast Initiative, and the University of Aizu's industry-university collaborative robotics R&D project.
