Abstract

In today's world a lot of researchers are working in the field of mobile robotics. Mobile robots like wheeled mobile robots, legged robots, aerial robots etc are capable of independent movement and find a lot of applications in our day today life. Essentially, in addition to their mobility, they are able to function autonomously, without requiring human intervention. It is interesting to learn about mobile robotics and how to start working on it and implement different algorithms for mapping and navigation etc. This webinar is meant for those who have basic understanding of MATLAB and Simulink and the following topics will be covered

·       Introduction to system modelling, simulation, and control

·       How does a differential drive robot work?

·       Modelling multibody dynamics and contact forces

·       Robot Navigation

·       Overview of Embedded Code Generation (including ROS nodes)

Prerequisites

Basic understanding of MATLAB and Simulink

·  MATLAB Onramp

·  Simulink Onramp.

Profile of the speaker

Dr. Dhruv Chandel is an Education Customer Success Engineer at MathWorks, based out of New Delhi. He works with universities across India to introduce Computational Thinking and Model-Based Design into teaching and research.

Dhruv has over six years of experience in multidomain Modelling & Simulation, Control Systems Design, Artificial Intelligence and Embedded Programming. He has previously worked in academia as well as industry, including four years with a startup renewable energy company on bringing a prototype wave energy converter to the commercial stage.
