Simulation as a Project Development and Management Tool

“My first Presentation covered using Simulation as a tool to teach skills in Programming and Automation. The next Presentation in the series will focus on how Simulation can be used in the classroom as to enhance lessons in Project and Project Management skills. The first class assignment discussion begins by reviewing an actual physical prototype created for one of the labs. This protype was then modeled as a Simulation to describe and explore functionality and programming options. Students must take this information to create Project Documentation detailed enough to get professional firms to quote a working system. The second assignment has no physical prototype, only a basic simulation. The task is for the students to use what can be learned from the simulations to create a project specification in order to propose a number of solutions to the customer. The end result is to show how simulation can be used to enhance Project and Project Management discussions to a level typically not achievable by traditional methods.”
