Workshop “Advanced Communication Systems” 17-28 Aug

Dear All

Greeting from Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, RV College of Engineering, Bangalore.

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, brings you a two weeks Workshop (online) on “Advanced Communication Systems” jointly organized by IEEE ComSoc and IEEE APS student chapters of RVCE in association with IEEE Bangalore section during 17th Aug 2020 to 28th Aug 2020. The intent of the workshop is to facilitate learning and develop skills particularly in MIMO. The workshop gives exposure to the participants about MIMO spatial multiplexing, Channel modeling, Basics of multicarrier signaling, Receiver architectures, MIMO capacity and Multiplexing architectures. The workshop is complemented by practical demonstrations using MATLAB and NI USRP-2920 SDR Kit.

About the Speakers:

1.Dr.S Ravishankar, Senior Member, IEEE who has 32 years of industry experience in the area of Communication Engineering. For the first 20 years he was with the Satcom Lab of Indian Telephone Industries Bangalore where he was intensively involved in the complete development cycle from design, engineering, prototyping and Customer approval of VSAT Offset Reflector Antennas, FMSCPC-Modems and Intermediate Data Rate (IDR) Digital Modems and Digital voice Multiplexer – Demultiplexer for VSAT applications. Thereafter for the next 12 years he worked with two US based Companies viz; Texas Instruments and Centillium Inc, as a DSP systems Engineer on Modem Chipsets on OFDM and DMT based Broadband DSL wireline and wireless router signal processing domain. Specifically, he was involved in seamless and rapid rate adaptation, channel equalization, power management and automated single ended line tests. He is currently serving as a Professor in the ECE department, RVCE since14 years.

2.Dr. Sundeep Prabhakar Chepuri received the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering and the Ph.D. degree (cum laude) from TU Delft, in July 2011 and January 2016, respectively. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Electrical Communication Engineering department at IISc. He is also, an Associate Editor of the EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, and a member of the EURASIP Signal Processing for Multisensor Systems’ Special Area Team.

Dr. Sundeep’s  research interests include mathematical signal processing, statistical inference and learning, applied to communication systems, network sciences, and computational imaging. The main themes of his research are computational sensing, sparse sampling, signal processing and machine learning for communications, graph signal processing, and machine learning over graphs.
