Call for Internship

Dear IEEE Hyderabad Student Member,

IEEE Hyderabad Section is glad to present an Internship Programme  IEEE Hyderabad Mentorship Programme for Student Members (IHMPS) for the academic year 2020.  The aim of the program is to identify meritorious engineering students from branches related to IEEE including electrical, electronics, and computer engineering and offer full-time(preferred) or  part-time internship. IHMPS provides a great opportunity to IEEE Student Members to explore their interests under IEEE Hyderabad Senior Member volunteer mentors.  IHMPS facilitates association between mentors and students based on shared interests and skill sets.

IEEE Hyderabad student members are invited to apply for internship with volunteer mentors of their choice.  A template for student internship application is also available in the above shared link.  Student is expected to fill-in their details in the given application template and share with mentor through e-mail (CC to athotakavitha@ieee.org) before initiating interaction with the mentors.  Students are advised to submit filled-in the application by taking HoD’s signature (scan copy is acceptable). Alternatively, the HoD may send email approval directly to athotakavitha@ieee.org. A student can apply to a maximum of three mentors.  All mentor(s) details with whom student will communicate for Internship need to be given in the same application. Student shall email filled-in application with chosen mentor(s) (CC to athotakavitha@ieee.org with the email subject as IEEE Hyderabad Student Member Internship Application).   

The mentor will interview the student to verify his/her competency in order to offer Internship. Each mentor can recommend a maximum of four students for internship. The mentor will forward short listed prospective mentee details to IEEE Hyderabad section. Among recommended students a mentor is assigned a maximum of two students (they should be from different colleges).  IEEE Hyderabad section will finalize the selection based on slots available with mentor and other criteria.

Duration of the internship will be for 8 to 12 weeks (preferably full-time) i.e. approximately 300 hours for internship assignments. If full-time is not possible, the internship can continue part-time with the concurrence of the mentor and the HoD.   A certificate of internship would be provided by IEEE Hyderabad mentioning the mentor details and the topic pursued, upon successful completion of the internship. Students will be paid a stipend of Rs. 5,000/- will be paid on successful completion of their internship.

Meritorious Engineering Students who have completed their 3rd year I-sem in branches related to IEEE including electrical, electronics, and computer engineering with minimum aggregate percentage 70%  or 7.5 CGPA are invited to apply.
