MMMUT has 3950+ students of whom 3100 are undergraduate students (six B. Tech. Programmes) in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Chemical Engineering (with specialization in sugar technology) along with M.B.A., M.C.A. and MSc Physics (specialization in Electronics). University is also running M. Tech. program in 12 disciplines and full/part- time Ph.D. programme in number of disciplines as part of Quality Improvement Programme of MHRD, University fellowships and TEQIP-III project. Three more programs (B. Tech. (IT), BBA and M.Sc. Mathematics (Computing)) are planned from academic year 2019-20.

About Gorakhpur City:

The name "Gorakhpur" comes from the Sanskrit Gorakshapuram, which means abode of Gorakshanath, a renowned ascetic who was a prominent saint of the Nath Sampradaya. Gorakhpur is a city along the banks of the Rapti river in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is near the Nepal border, 273 kilometres east of the state capital Lucknow. It is the administrative headquarters of Gorakhpur district and Gorakhpur
division. The city is home to the Gorakhnath Math, a Gorakshanath temple. Mahant Yogi Adityanath, politician who is the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, in office since 19 March 2017 also belongs to Gorakhpur.

- Gorakhpur Railway Station is located in the city of Gorakhpur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It has the world's longest railway platform.


- An air force station in Gorakhpur was established in 1963 and extended for public transport. From the MMMUT, the Gorakhpur airport is 5.0 km. It facilitates several direct flights for Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Indore and Hyderabad.

Gorakhnath Temple: Gorakhpur takes its name from Gorakhnath, who was a saint and travelled widely across India and authored a number of texts that form a part of the canon of Nath Sampradaya. The temple performs various cultural and social activities and serves as the cultural hub of the city. Gorakhnath Temple is 4.5 kms away from the Gorakhpur Railway Station.


Kushinagar: Kushinagar is a pilgrimage town in the Kushinagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Buddhists believe Gautama Buddha attained Parinirvana after his death. The road distance between Gorakhpur to Kushinagar is 51 km


Lumbini, Nepal
Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Province No. 5 in Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mahamayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BCE. Gautama, who achieved Enlightenment sometime around 528 BCE, became the Buddha and founded Buddhism. Lumbini is within Driving distance of Gorakhpur (100 Kms - 3.00 hours).
