Greetings!!!

The month of May was mainly on activities of Affordable Agriculture and STEM to STEAM initiative at Kelkar Museum. The prime objective is to involve maximum number of students and professionals in Pune Section’s activity so as to pass maximum benefit to the member community and keep them abreast with technology. Hence, all our activities and endeavors are aligned towards the same.

Events held during the month of May 2019 at IEEE Pune Section

1. With the objective of poverty alleviation of farmers using affordable technology in agriculture, 12 campaigns were organized for Hydroponics awareness at different location of Pune from 14-20 May 2019. The campaign was led by Dr Rajesh Ingle.

2. World Telecommunication and Information Society Day was celebrated on 17 May 2019 at The Institute of Engineers (India), Pune Local Centre. The theme for the year was “Sustainable Development Goals to Bridge the Standardization Gap”. The theme speaker and Guest of Honor was Prof. Dr. Ashok Deshpande, Faculty, University of California and University of New South Wales. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Er. Gaurav Saxena, Principal Consultant, Infosys, Pune.

3. International Museums Day was celebrated at “Raja Kelkar Museum’’ on 18 May, 2019. On this occasion a unique Museum Walk guided by internationally renowned makeup artist, beautician Mrs. Leena Khandekar and Historian Dr. Ganesh Raut was being organized. The event was supported by IEEE.

4. Harish Taru and Mr. Roshan Kedar visited Kerwadi and Ambejogai on 22^nd May, 2019 on the behalf of Special Interest Group on Affordable Agriculture. The purpose of the visit was to review the progress of demo farm set up and other related activities of IEEE Humanitarian Activities Committee and IEEE Foundation projects.

5. Execom meeting was held on 25th May at Institution of Engineers, Shivajinagar.

6. As a part of IEEE Pune Section activities, Young Professional (YP) chair Mr. Bhaskar Mishra will be driving a mentoring program for IEEE student members and IEEE young professionals. Execom members will be part of mentors groups. It is a great opportunity for young professionals, budding entrepreneurs and students to get guidance for career path in industry and academic world from accomplished professionals located in Pune.
