Dear Members of IEEE Kerala Section,
Wish you a very happy, prosperous, healthy and successful New Year..!!
As we mark the beginning of a new year, it’s customary to have new expectations and resolutions. We are going through an era where technologies change at a very fast pace, irrespective of our chosen professional fields. With Industry 4.0 making its presence in every sector, students and professionals in all domains of engineering need to acquire skill sets to survive and derive benefits out of the new opportunities. In this context, I request you to enhance your connections with IEEE both for the enrichment of technical knowledge as well as networking with professionals across the globe. 2018 will be remembered by most of us mainly due to the devastating floods that we have experienced in a century. As a responsible organisation poised for the use of technology for the advancement of humanity, our volunteers did a great job to support the victims in many ways including the creation and maintenance of the principal website for rescue activities keralarescue.in, the supply of temporary electrification boards and many other related activities. Other notable activities include International Leadership Summit of Women in Engineering held at Kochi and 4-th edition of our biennial conference RAICS 2018 at Thiruvananthapuram. We have started a year-long series of programs from November 2018 to November 2019 to mark our 35-th anniversary. All the society chapters and affinity groups will be coming up with programs for their specific member groups in 2019. The highlight of 2019 would be the flagship conference of IEEE Region 10, TENCON 2019 that is coming to India after a gap of 11 years. We are organising TENCON 2019 during 17 to 20 October at Grand Hyatt Bolgatty, Kochi. We request the active participation and support of our members not only for this conference but also for all other programs of the Section.
