YRM 2018

Young Researchers’ Meet 2018 (YRM’18), one of the flagship events of IEEE PES Bangalore Section is a platform aimed at bringing in Research ideas and prospects from industrial point of view and pitch it in front of the budding young Researchers’ from various parts of the country. Research today is not confined to be subject specific as a lot of interdisciplinary aspects are to be covered for creating a viable product which is useful to the society. This requires the Researchers to meet and interact with experts from different domains which would provide the spark needed to convert an idea into an innovation.

THEME: “Integration of Modern Power Engineering with other domains”

The conventional Grid concepts are slowly becoming obsolete with the advancements in Smart Grid Technologies. The concepts of Distributed Generation and better Power Quality Improvement Controllers are making the grid smarter. The developments in the field of Sensors are making the parameter estimations in the Power Systems much easier and efficient. The field of IoT has opened a extensive framework for young researchers to work in upgrading the field of Power Engineering into a reliable, more efficient system. With the increasing fuel prices and environmental pollution along with the fast depleting fossil fuel sources, the scope of E-Mobility has improved. The impact of introduction of E-mobility on the existing power grid and the effect of pricing would also play a major role in the Power Systems of the future.

The YRM’18 would provide a platform for discussion and deliberations on these areas thereby imbibing the young researchers with novel ideas related to Integration of Modern Power Engineering with other domains.

YRM’18 would be held at Faculty of Engineering, Christ (Deemed to be University), wherein students, faculty and full time Researchers could involve in brainstorming and be mentored by eminent Researchers and Industrial Experts providing a practical point of view for their Research problems.

The event would be conducted in three sessions, beginning with a talk by the Industrial experts. The second session would be parallel sessions where Researchers would be mentored in their particular domains while a parallel session would be provided for Researchers to pitch in their ideas to an expert panel and check the viability of their Research ideas.

IEEE members : ₹ 500

Non IEEE members : ₹ 600
