Comsoc DL Event with Prof. Suresh Subramaniam, George Washington University

All,

You are cordially invited to attend a Distinguished Lecturer Programme by Prof Suresh Subramaniam from George Washington University, Washington DC, USA.

He will speak on "Data Centre Networks" at 4:00PM on Tuesday, 24th July at Sanketika Vidya Bhavan in Masab Tank, Hyderabad.

Abstract:

This lecture focuses on data center networking. Data centers and their requirements are first introduced. Then a detailed presentation of several data center network architectures and their relative merits is given. Conventional electrical switching architectures such as fat tree and VL2 are first presented and compared.  Subsequently, the lecture will discuss several recent proposals on incorporating optical switching in the data center network. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of protocol and performance issues and some emerging topics.
