Short Term Training cum Certificate Course on Robotics Engineering

Greetings IEEE Bangalore Section Members,
Centre for Robotics Research, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology in association with IEEE Robotics & Automation Society, Bangalore Chapter is offering short term hands-on training programme on “ROBOTICS ENGINEERING” based on LEGO Mindstorm & TETRIX system. NMIT is the first Institute in the country to introduce such course in its curriculum. As part of its outreach, it is now offering the same course to interested students & external participants. The details of the training programme are enclosed with this mail.
The highlights of the training programme are as follows

Last Date for Registration: 30th June 2018
Venue: Robotics Lab, NMIT, Bangalore-64.
Who can Attend this Course:
Anyone who is interested in honing their practical engineering skills, be it designing mechanical systems, control systems or programming can attend this course: The course is open to Fresh Engineering Graduates, Industry Personnel, Academicians (Faculty) , Students pursuing engineering (Across Disciplines), Diploma Students etc.
Why Attend this Course?
- This course is in line with global standards set by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology) to reinforce STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) Education. This will set students apart and will increase their chances of getting into foreign universities for higher studies or even getting a job.
- “Robotics Engineering” Course will include state of the art tailor made curriculum developed by Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Academy.
- Participants will learn how to develop system or process using state of the art hardware with brick controllers, sensors and servo motors coupled with building elements such as gears, axles, links, channels made up of ABS plastic & aircraft grade aluminum.
- Programming possibilities with National Instruments Lab VIEW for LEGO MINDSTORMS or ROBOTC, C++, MATLAB and variety of software. Open source architecture provides immense flexibility.
- Most of the Robotics related training programmes focuses only on control system or coding using ready made robotics platform, while our course focuses on all the aspects of robotics from scratch, i,e, you will learn how to design and develop a robot mechanism and structure, How to interface peripherals (Sensors & Actuators), Design of control system, calibration and optimization of the physical systems and finally how to program the robot effectively to solve complex problems.
- Participants work on open ended problems unlike in the conventional lab; it is all about Creativity coupled with strong Fundamental Engineering Concepts.
- Participants can assume the role of an Engineer or a Scientist, Perform WHAT IF? Analysis, Test their engineering skills, It doesn’t matter if the design fails, Coz they will learn how & why their design failed, this is how knowledge is enriched.
- The course will be taught by experienced faculty who have extensive hands on experience in the development of Robots & its allied technologies
- Participants will learn how to work in an multidisciplinary environment.
- The participants will receive a training completion certificate from CRR, NMIT upon successfully completing the training programme.
