IEEE SIGHT D-FEAT Poster Design Competition for Students
AS part of IEEE SIGHT DFEAT project, a poster design competition is planned for students to design posters to create awareness on Electrical Safety in common people especially in rural areas.

Guidelines for Poster Designing Competition
Posters are to show dos and do nots to avoid electrocution / burns and fires
(without using jargon) in easy to follow words

1. Original content/pictures/images must be used for poster design, free of plagiarism or any copyright issues
2. The text in the poster should be in English/Telugu and clearly visible from a certain distance
3. The posters should be suited to the conditions in AP and Telangana with respect to attires and pictures depicted.
4. Any number of posters can be submitted on various themes like
• Touching or going too close to snapped overhead line conductors (due to step voltages also)
• Accidental contact with line conductor or terminals while cutting trees, flying kites, carrying or moving metallic rods, poles, ladders, cranes, banners
even when clearances are as required by Regulations but more so when clearances are less),
• Doing construction, maintenance of lines and equipment without making sure supply is de-energised and cannot be re-energised by proper line clear, lock out and tag out methods
• Touching defective (insulation failing ) electrical equipment and gadgets mostly pump motor starter frames. (remedy - RCD, proper earthing, using non metallic frames)

Unauthorised , unqualified users trying to restore power by operating switches/ replacing fuses etc
• Response to electric shocks
• Contact information of concerned personnel of DISCOM, phone numbers to reach in case of emergency

6. Fill the form (https://goo.gl/forms/4BSObDt6sZlK9ohq2) and mail your poster submissions to srujana.iitd@gmail.com on or before 31st March, 2018
7. Students whose posters are selected may need to work with IEEE SIGHT representative to modify the poster, if required
All students with eligible poster submissions will qualify for Participation Certificate and the students whose posters are selected will receive prizes along with certificates from the IEEE SIGHT DFEAT project.
