"Large Language Models and Agentic AI in Telecommunications"
The seminar will be delivered by Dr. Faris B. Mismar, IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer (2026–2027).
As Large Language Models evolve from systems that simply generate responses into increasingly autonomous AI agents, new opportunities—and new challenges—are emerging across the telecommunications sector.
The seminar will address topics including:
- Fundamentals of Large Language Models
- The evolution from LLM assistants to Agentic AI
- AI applications in customer care and service provisioning
- Network planning and optimization
- Challenges associated with autonomy, hallucinated actions, conflicting goals, and integration with legacy systems
- When AI should act autonomously and when human oversight should remain essential
