Dear IEEE Utah WiE Members,
The IEEE Utah Section Women in Engineering (WiE) Affinity Group is excited to share our upcoming activities for June. We hope you’ll join us for these opportunities to learn, connect, and engage with our engineering community.
📌 June 5, 2026 10:00 AM MST— Distinguished Lecture (Virtual)
Topic: Human System Engineering Initiatives: From Human Views to Human Readiness Levels Speaker: Holly A. H. Handley, PhD, PE (Interim Dean, Old Dominion University)
This WIE Distinguished Lecture explores the role of Human System Engineering within Systems Engineering, highlighting two key initiatives—Human Views and Human Readiness Levels—that support the integration of human-centered requirements into complex system design. Attendees will gain insight into current standards, applications, and the importance of designing systems that effectively incorporate human operators.

📌 June 12, 2026 6:30 PM MST — Technical Talk (Virtual)
Topic: From AI Prototypes to Agent‑Ready Organizations: Building AI Systems That Work in the Real World Speaker: Chhavi Jain (VP Engineering focused on enterprise AI platforms, and AI mentor within the UC San Diego startup ecosystem)
Artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving from isolated prototypes to enterprise‑scale systems. This session examines what it takes to build “agent‑ready” organizations capable of deploying AI responsibly and effectively. Topics include agentic AI architectures, infrastructure realities, governance, human‑in‑the‑loop design, and lessons learned from real‑world deployments.

📌 June 16, 2026 3:00PM — Novva Data Center Tour (In‑Person)
6:30 PM MST — South Jordan, Utah
Topic: Novva Data Center Tour
Join us for an exclusive behind‑the‑scenes tour of the Novva Data Center, one of Utah’s most advanced and sustainably engineered facilities. Explore the technologies powering hyperscale operations, AI workloads, and modern cloud infrastructure. With a small group size, participants will have the opportunity to ask in‑depth questions and engage directly with Novva’s technical staff.
Space is limited to 15 participants. A waitlist will be available once capacity is reached.
