Dear SMC members,

The Membership and Student Activities Committee of the SMCS is pleased to offer funding opportunities for Chapters and Student Branch Chapters to support local programming, encourage volunteerism, and promote society involvement.

Two types of grants are available:

Start-up Grant (up to $500): Available once to newly formed Chapters and Student Branch Chapters, within 12 months of their formation. Requests are accepted at any time and approved automatically.
Initiative Grant (up to $2,000): Awarded competitively to support chapter activities and initiatives planned for 2026.

Eligible Chapters can apply for funding to support workshops, industry talks, outreach programs, design competitions, and more.

Proposals can be submitted twice a year:

April 15, 2026 – Submission deadline #1
June 15, 2026 – Submission deadline #2
