Prof. Roberto Gómez-García from the University of Alcalá, Spain, will give a seminar on RF/microwave filters with beyond-transmission-band flat group delay. The talk will introduce the need for low-phase-distortion filters in digital communication systems and review recent designs that combine sharp selectivity, out-of-band transmission zeros, and quasi-flat group-delay behavior using transversal networks, complementary-diplexer schemes, and reflective implementations. Experimental results from fabricated prototypes will also be presented.

This event is organized by the IEEE KW AP-S and MTT-S Student Branch Chapters as part of an initiative led by Prof. Raafat Mansour, Chair of the IEEE KW Antennas and Propagation (AP03) and Microwave Theory and Techniques (MTT17) Chapters, to promote AP/MTT activities within the Waterloo community.
