We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 20th IEEE International Conference on RFID 2026, to be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, June 16–18, 2026.
This milestone conference celebrates two decades of innovation in RFID technology and offers a unique opportunity to share and discuss the latest research in the field.
This year, for the first time, the conference will offer a 1-day tutorial on “The RF in the RFID” by Daniel Dobkin, “Energy Harvesting” by Greg Durgin, “Circuits and Cryptography” by Brian Degnan and “Middleware / Applications” by Jeffrey Dungen.
Conference topics include:
- RFID applications in high-consequence environments
- Artificial intelligence applied to RFID
- Cyber-physical systems and digital twins
- RFID value creation and evaluation
- Advanced fabrication and prototyping techniques
- Smart materials and flexible electronics
- Emerging trends in RFID tag design
- Industrial sessions and GS1 roundtables
Submission options:
- Option A: Conference papers (4–6 pages)
- Option B: Journal papers submitted to the IEEE Journal of RFID special issue “Selected Papers from the 2026 IEEE International Conference on RFID” (no page limit)
Accepted Option A papers will be included in the conference proceedings and published on IEEE Xplore. Selected authors may also be invited to submit extended versions of their work to the IEEE Journal of RFID special issue.
How to contribute to the event's organization:
Don’t miss the opportunity to submit a SPECIAL SESSION and/or a WORKSHOP proposal.
The goal of special sessions is to highlight a specific domain related to RFID technology or propose a topic at its frontier.
The goal of workshops is to engage conference attendees through high-level talks, panel discussions, demos, or other activities that foster meaningful interaction with the audience.
Important dates:
- Special sessions proposal deadline: November 10, 2025
- Workshops proposal deadline: December 8, 2025
- Paper submission deadline: January 15, 2026
- Notification of paper acceptance: March 30, 2026
- Final paper submission: May 5, 2026
