Summary:
Dr. Sarris will present recent advances in applying scientific machine learning (SciML) to computational electromagnetics. He will discuss Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) for multi-physics time-domain modeling, which eliminate the need for large simulation datasets and enable faster, stable solutions for coupled electromagnetic–thermal problems and metasurface modeling. The lecture will also highlight the use of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to quickly generate radio-wave propagation maps from indoor geometries, with emphasis on generalization to unseen environments.
