Reminder: Call for Applications -IEEE WiE- Shri Pralhad P Chhabria Awards 2025

Greetings!

In honour of the Founder President of Hope Foundation and Research Centre (HFRC) Pune, Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria (Founder Chairman of Finolex Group of Companies), the Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria Awards were constituted in 2017 in association with the Hope Foundation and Research Centre, IEEE India Council, the Women in Engineering Affinity Group, and the IEEE Pune Section.

About the Awards:

The Shri Pralhad P. Chhabria Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of young women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). These prestigious awards are dedicated to empowering women in STEM and recognising their contributions to society.

Award Categories:

1) Best Graduate Student:

Winner and Runner-Up awards for exceptional undergraduate female students (those who have completed their Bachelor's Degree in 2025) in Science, Technology, or Engineering. These awards honour academic excellence, contributions to the institute, and community involvement.

2) Best Woman Professional - Early Career Stage:

Winner and Runner-Up awards for young women who have significantly contributed to technological, economic, and social development in the nation.

There are two awards -Winner and two Runner-Up, under each category

Each winner will receive prize money of INR 1,25,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Twenty-Five Thousand Only) along with a medal and citation.

Each  Runner-Up will receive prize money of INR 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) along with a medal and citation.

Award Nominee Requirements:

- Current IEEE member or must have held IEEE membership for at least one continuous year within the previous two years from the year of application.

- If the applicant's IEEE membership has lapsed at the time of application, they may still apply based on prior membership. However, if shortlisted as a finalist, the nominee will be required to renew their membership.

- While an IEEE Women in Engineering membership is desirable, it is not mandatory.

- The applicant must have been a resident of India for at least the last two years.

Presentation by Finalists (Graduates) in online mode: 6 December 2025 (Saturday)

Presentation by Finalists (Professionals) in online mode:7 December 2025 (Sunday)

Announcement of Winners: 20 December 2025 (Saturday): During IEEE India Council Awards ceremony

Award Ceremony: 12 March 2026 (Thursday) - at Pune, Maharashtra, India
