The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society – Italy Section Chapter 2025 PhD Thesis Award

The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, Italy Section Chapter, recognizes outstanding work by young
researchers in the field of Industrial Electronics and Informatics through the presentation of two Awards for the
best PhD Theses successfully defended in an Italian University in the Academic Year 2023/2024 after July 31,
2023 and before July 31, 2024 (cycle XXXVI). For the year 2025, two awards will be given. The first prize
consists of an honorarium of € 300.00 and a Certificate. The second prize consists of an honorarium of € 200.00
and a Certificate.

Rules for Participation
Only candidates with the following requisites are eligible for the Award:
• be a Member or Student Member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society
• have completed the Doctoral Program at an Italian University

Candidates must submit their application by July 31st 2025 (23.59 GMT+1) together with:
• Name and email address of the candidate
• Self-certification of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society membership with member number
• Title of the Ph.D. Thesis
• Name of the PhD. Thesis Advisor and his/her email address
• Name of the University in which the Ph.D. has been acquired and denomination of the Ph.D. program
• Date of final defense
• Electronic copy in pdf format of the Ph.D. Thesis
• Electronic copy in pdf format of a 1-page summary of the contribution of the Ph.D. Thesis
• Electronic copy in pdf format of the reviews of the Ph.D. Thesis
• List of the publications co-authored by the candidate resulting from the thesis, if any
• Electronic copy in pdf format of the publications co-authored by the candidate concerning the doctoral topic,
if any
• Curriculum Vitae listing educational background, positions held, awards of the candidate, copy of the
evaluation of the Ph.D. Committee (final examination committee)
• A presentation letter by the PhD. Thesis Advisor.

“Application for the 2025 IEEE IES Italy Chapter Ph.D. Thesis Award [family name + name of the
candidate]”. The applicants will be notified of the acceptance of their submission. If participants do not receive
any notification, they are kindly requested to contact fabrizio.marignetti@unicas.it.
The theses will be evaluated by a Board of Experts designated by the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society - Italy
Chapter.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome by September 2024. The award will be presented at an IEEE event in
Italy.
All the decisions of the Board are final.
