Dear IEEE Region 9 members,

The Universidad de Montevideo will be the host university for the upcoming IEEE Student Branch Regional Meeting, to be held in Uruguay from October 5–7, 2025.

In anticipation of this unique opportunity to gather the IEEE Latin American community, we would like to extend a special invitation to participate in the Quantum Hackathon Latam 2025: Quantum for Climate, which will take place in person in Montevideo from October 1–3, just before the Regional Meeting.

This hackathon, the first of its kind in Latin America, is organized by Universidad de Montevideo together with the Open Quantum Institute (CERNGESDAUBS) and is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students from across Latin America who are interested in applying quantum computing to climate challenges.
