Amateur Radio Workshop

What inspired you to become an Engineer?  Are you the type of person who looks for opportunities to experiment with technology – just for the fun of it? Amateur Radio is a hobby that provides participants with an unlimited opportunity to explore science and technology in fun ways while making friends and getting involved in club activities and community events.  The opportunities are truly unlimited.

Come join us on May 27th at 3:00pm at Hub350 where you will hear from members of the Ottawa Amateur Radio Club about how to get your Amateur Radio License and see some of the technologies they build and use. Learn more about the club activities and community events that they support.

You will have an opportunity to get “Hands-on” during this session.

Also, the IEEE AP-S/URSI Conference will be held at the Rogers Centre in downtown Ottawa (https://2025.apsursi.org/) this year from July 13-18, 2025.  IEEE-SIGHT will be there.  The Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) program is a network of IEEE volunteers around the globe that partner with under-served communities and local organizations to leverage technology for sustainable development.  There is great interest from the local Amateur Radio community to work with us to develop a SIGHT Chapter in Ottawa.  Perhaps this is an area that some of you may also be interested in.
