Call for IEEE PES Chapter Best Thesis Award 2025

anche quest'anno il nostro Power & Energy Society Chapter PE31 dell’IEEE Italy Section bandisce il premio “Best Thesis Award” per la migliore tesi di dottorato di un membro della nostra Society che abbia discusso la tesi nell'anno 2024.
Il premio consiste in un certificato e in una somma in denaro di 500 €.
La scadenza per la presentazione delle candidature è la mezzanotte del prossimo 30 maggio 2025.
La procedura di valutazione terminerà entro 90 giorni e il premio verrà consegnato durante la prima occasione utile nel corso del 2025.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Best Thesis Awards in Power Engineering
Following an already well-established tradition, the IEEE Italy Section – Power & Energy Society Chapter PE31 recognizes distinguished work in the field of Power Engineering (power system, power delivery and energy conversion topics) through presentation of Awards for the best PhD thesis defended in an Italian University. The Award consists in a 500 € honorarium and a certificate.
The Award will be assigned for PhDs thesis defended in 2024.
Candidates must be Members of IEEE PES and must fulfill the following requisites:
- have completed the Doctoral Course at an Italian University;
- defended his/her PhD thesis in 2024;
- send their application, by the midnight of May 30th, 2025, together with:
- a self-certification of IEEE-PES membership (format available in attachment);
- the pdf file of the dissertation;
- a copy of publications concerning the dissertation topic, if any;
- a curriculum vitae listing educational background, positions held, publications, awards, etc.
All documents must be sent in electronic format by e-mail (please do not exceed 5 MB or send it through a large-file sending service, e.g., WeTransfer, Filesender GARR).
Theses will be evaluated by a Board of Experts in Power Engineering, designated by the Chapter Executive Committee. Award recipients will be notified by e-mail within 90 days. Chapter Officers will present the awards to the recipients at a Meeting of the IEEE Italy Section – Power & Energy Society Chapter PE31. The material sent for evaluation will not be returned. All the decisions of the Board are final.
