IEEE Sweden VT/COM/IT Online Industry Seminar by Dr. Haewook Park, LG Electronics

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the IEEE Sweden VT/COM/IT Chapter we would like to invite you to the IEEE industry seminar by Dr. Haewook Park LG Electronics, Seoul, South Korea.

Title: 5G standardization of AI/ML based CSI prediction

Time: 10:15-11:00 CET on Wednesday, May 7, 2025

Online Zoom: https://lu-se.zoom.us/j/66450778510?pwd=vQ5NMVBKGDPTNDmnXIABJKSGAfVHZK.1 (alternative connections below)

Abstract:

Recently, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning (AI/ML) has received great attention from industry and academia, and are being considered one of the key aspects of 6G. With this trend, in Rel-18 and Rel-19, 3GPP has studied some AI/ML use cases for NR air interface, including channel state information (CSI) feedback, beam management, and positioning. This talk aims to provide 3GPP 5G standardization work on AI/ML for CSI prediction, which is one of the promising AI/ML use cases.

Biography:

Haewook Park (haewook.park@lge.com) received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Korea University, Seoul, Korea, in 2008 and 2014, respectively. Since 2015, he has been with LG Electronics, Seoul, Korea, as a senior researcher. His research interests include 3GPP RAN standardization, MIMO communication, optimization theory, and AI/ML. For 3GPP Rel-19 physical layer AI/ML, Haewook is the 3GPP RAN1 feature lead for AI/ML based CSI prediction.

Welcome!

Best regards,
Michael Lentmaier (Chair)
