Formation of Life Member Affinity Group in Richmond Section

Respected Life Members

I hope this message finds you well.

As the Richmond Section, we would like to express our keen interest in establishing a Life Member Affinity Group (LMAG) for our section. We believe that forming this group will add significant value both to our section and to the broader Life Member community by providing opportunities for continued engagement, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.

In line with this vision, I have officially submitted a petition to MGA for the formation of an LMAG under the Richmond Section. As part of the review process, MGA may be reaching out for endorsements or expressions of support from section leaders and members. I would be grateful if you could kindly share your thoughts on this initiative and offer your support if you feel aligned with the purpose.

Once the LMAG is approved, our initial plans include:

  • Hosting at least 2 or more technical or professional events per year

  • Collaborating with student branches, YP, and WIE affinity groups

  • Engaging in mentorship programs and career development

  • Organizing networking and social gatherings for Life Members and other volunteers

We also look forward to having LMAG representatives participate in Executive Committee meetings, further contributing to the growth and vibrancy of our section.

Your support and insights will be instrumental in making this endeavor successful. Please feel free to share any thoughts, suggestions, or questions you might have.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the IEEE community.
