This meeting will be called by Dr. Huang the Metro LA Section Membership Elevation Chair at 11:00 a.m. ending at noon. The Drive Thru Grab-and-Go hosted by Metro LA Section at Stonefire Grill in Pasadena CA will start at noon ending by 3:00 p.m. Eremita Miranda, the Event Chair, will introduce Dr. Shouhua Huang, the Metro Section Membership Elevation Chair to go through the IEEE Membership Elevation process.

This Meeting will address all IEEE members regardless of membership grade and section affiliation as follows:

·         Who this meeting is directed toward:

o   Individuals who want to be elevated to the IEEE Senior Member (SM) level are ready to fill out the application. If you do, please send an email to Dr. Huang (shouhua.huang@jpl.nasa.gov) with your resume, your membership number, and a brief description about your 5-year performance / achievements in IEEE designated fields, and cc to the Event Chair: eremitam@outlook.com.  

o   Individuals who are already senior members. They want to contribute to the profession as a reference to applicants. Please send Dr. Huang an email with your membership number if you want to be a reference, please cc the Event Chair: eremitam@outlook.com.  

o   Individuals who are Young Professionals (YPs) seeking help for them to plan ahead to qualify for the Senior membership as early as possible in their careers and want to learn as much as possible from qualified /experienced engineers.

·         Dr. Huang will talk about the requirements of the application process to advance your membership position.

o   Senior Member Grade level –is the highest position someone can hold in IEEE. There are substantial job responsibilities for senior members.

o   The next level is Fellow grade; to be nominated for a Fellow, the nominator must be a senior member or a Fellow.  The member must be a senior member for at least 3 years. For more information on the fellow program, please go to: www.ieee.org/fellow.
