IEEE AP-S Technical Committees

Dear IEEE AP-S Members,

We would like to let you know that the AP-S has established 12 Technical Committees as follows (note that AP-S didn’t have Technical Committees before):

IEEE AP-S Technical Committees (TCs)

<Key technical fields>

1.  Antennas: Antenna Modeling, Design, Fabrication    Chair: Maria Pour, University of Alabama

2.  Arrays: Antenna Arrays and Systems, Reconfigurable Structures   Chair: Yongmei Pan, South China University of Technology

3.  Propagation & Scattering: Propagation, Scattering, Channel Characterization   Chair: Thomas Kuerner, Technische Universität Braunschweig

4.  Metamaterials: Electromagnetic Materials and Devices, Metamaterials, Metasurfaces, Metastructures     Chair: Alessio Monti, Universita Niccolo Cusano

5.  Electromagnetics & Fundamentals: Electromagnetics at All Frequencies and Sizes, Quantum Engineering, Antenna and Radiation Theory   Chair: George Eleftheriades, University of Toronto

6.  Computational Electromagnetics: Computational Electromagnetics, Optimization, Direct and Inverse Design, Artificial Intelligence   Chair: Zhen Peng, University of Illinois

7.  Antenna Measurements: Antenna Measurements   Chair: Sima Noghanian, CommScope

<Applications>

8.  Wireless Communications: Wireless Communications, Satellite Communications, Integrated Communication and Sensing, Computer, Information, Vehicular Systems    Chair: Atif Shamim, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology

9.  Security: Security, Defense, Disaster Management     Chair: Satish Sharma, San Diego State University

10.  Environment: Environment, Power, Sustainability, Climate Change, Societal Impacts    Chair: George Shaker, University of Waterloo

11.  Health & Medicine: Imaging, Sensing, Medicine, Health, Services    Chair: Qammer Abbasi, University of Glasgow

12.  Space: Deep Space Science, Earth Monitoring, Extraterrestrial Monitoring, Radio Astronomy    Chair: Dirk de Villiers, University of Stellenbosch

Each technical committee covers relevant technical areas within AP-S. TCs will provide technical expertise and assistance to AP-related publications, conferences, events, standards, local chapters, and membership in a particular technical area. AP-S TCs are incredibly important. This is a very important change for AP-S.  We hope that each of you will be able to identify one or more TCs to align well with your area of expertise and interest.

Happy Holidays!
