Dear UK and Ireland Power Electronics Society Chapter Members,

We would like to thank those who have submitted self-nominations to date to be considered for inclusion on the Slate of Candidates for Chapter officer positions in the upcoming chapter election.

The PELS Chapter Elections Committee has decided to extend the submission deadline until 30 November to facilitate chapter members to have sufficient time to self-nominate. 

We encourage all chapter members to review the officer role descriptions and consider volunteering to support your chapter through a self-nomination by 30 November. See below for more details

Members of the IEEE UK and Ireland Power Electronics Society (PELS) Chapter are invited to submit applications for consideration to be included on the Slate of Candidates for the 2024 PELS Chapter Officers Election.  

Full applications (using the updated template provided) should be submitted by email to secretary.pel35@gmail.com and received no later than 23:59 local time on 30 November 2024 (extended deadline).

Interested IEEE UK and Ireland PELS Members can self-nominate or be nominated by another IEEE UK and Ireland PELS Member.

If you are wish to nominate a colleague to be considered for the slate of candidates for the IEEE UK and Ireland PELS Chapter Election, it is a requirement that any nominee must be an IEEE Member in good standing and a UK and Ireland PELS Chapter Member. The nominee must confirm all content provided in the Application submitted, confirm they wish to considered to be included on the Slate of Candidates, have the available time if selected and are cc on the application submission.

Officer volunteer roles include: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary/Treasurer.

Term for each Officer Role: From 01 January 2025 until 31 December 2026

Eligibility for all Officer Roles
•    Must be an IEEE Member in good standing
•    Must be a member of IEEE Power Electronics Society
•    Must be of IEEE Graduate Student Member, Member or Life Member, Senior Member or Senior Life Member, Fellow or Life Fellow Grade
•    Must reside in either England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland or Northern Ireland
•    Membership of IEEE and IEEE Power Electronics Society must be up to date

Slate of Candidates for Elections

After the application deadline, the PELS Chapter Election Committee will verify the eligibility and qualifications of the candidates. All applicants will be notified of the outcome.

The approved Slate of Candidates will be communicated to all UK and Ireland PELS Chapter Members eligible to vote with a link to the ballot within VTools. Election voting will be open for two weeks.
