IEEE NTC– ITALY CHAPTER YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD 2024

The Italian Chapter of IEEE Nanotechnology Council rewards scientific activity performed by young researchers in the field of nanotechnology. 

Therefore, the Chapter presents an award addressed to a researcher who has published outstanding results about nanotechnology and related topics in the last years on IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, IEEE Open Journal of Nanotechnology, IEEE Nanotechnology Magazine, IEEE Transactions on NanoBioscience, IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics, IEEE Journal on Exploratory Solid State Computational Devices and Circuits, IEEE Transactions on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications, IEEE Transactions on Multi-Scale Computing Systems. 

Application process and requirements for 2024 award:

•  Application has to be sent via e-mail to the Chair and Secretary of the IEEE NTC– Italy Chapter, Prof. Mario Carpentieri (mario.carpentieri@poliba.it), and Dr. Monica La Mura (monica.lamura.it@ieee.org);
• The application must include a detailed CV, including the date of PhD achievement and information about IEEE membership, and a scientific paper. The paper should be an original research work in the field of nanotechnology which has been already published on one of the previous journals during the years 2019-2023; 
• Applicants should be Members of the IEEE Italy Section and of the IEEE NTC– Italy Chapter, and must have achieved the PhD degree starting from November 2019;
• Deadline for application is December 2nd, 2024
• The evaluation commission is composed of international experts and will evaluate the applicants, based on a set of criteria, including the relevance of the work and its scientific impact; 
• Results of the selection will be announced to the applicants during the Annual Meeting of the Chapter which will be held on December 10th, 2024 in Messina (Italy).
• The award will consist of €300 and a certificate addressed to the researcher. The winner researcher will also have the opportunity to give a talk (in person or online) about the submitted paper at one of the events organized by the NTC Italy Chapter in 2025.
