Call for Participation: 2024-2025 IEEE CASS Student Design Competition

Dear IEEE CASS Kenya Members,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am pleased to share an exciting opportunity for our student members— the 2024-2025 IEEE CASS Student Design Competition (SDC). This competition aims to encourage undergraduate students to solve real-world challenges in circuits and systems through innovative design projects.
It is a multi-phase event, progressing from the Chapter level to the Regional level, and culminating at the World level during the prestigious ISCAS 2025 conference.
Why Participate?
- Proven Track Record: Kenya’s talent has been recognized before—we had finalists in the previous ISCAS held in Singapore. Let's continue that success and showcase our exceptional skills on the global stage.
- Funding and Sponsorship: Each chapter-level competition will receive $500 USD funding from CASS. We also encourage participants to explore additional sponsorship from local industries.
- Global Exposure and Networking: Winners will receive travel grants to ISCAS 2025 and an opportunity to network with leading industry experts and academics from around the world.
- Attractive Prizes: The grand prize winner at the global level will be awarded $3,000 USD!
Key Participation Requirements
- Team Composition: Teams of 3 to 10 members, all undergraduates or high school students (until 31 December 2024).
- Mentorship: Each team should have at least one faculty or graduate student mentor.
- CASS Membership: At least 3 members of the team must be IEEE CASS members in 2024 and 2025.
Competition Phases
- Phase One: Chapter-level competition (organized locally by CASS Kenya).
- Phase Two: Regional-level competition.
- Phase Three: World-level competition at ISCAS 2025, with the final winners competing live.
