Call for proposal to Host the 2025 IEEE Region 8 Cross-Sectional SYP Congresses

Dear IEEE Section and Subsection Chairs,

Dear Student Activities Leaders,

Dear Young Professionals Affinity Group Chairs,

 

We are excited to announce that the IEEE Region 8 Student Activities Committee (R8 SAC) and the IEEE Region 8 Young Professionals Committee (R8 YP) are now accepting proposals to host the 2025 series of IEEE R8 Cross-Sectional Student and Young Professional Congresses (X-SYP).

These congresses provide a unique platform for student and young professional members from neighboring IEEE Region 8 Sections and Subsections to:

  • Enhance their technical and soft skills,

  • Network and socialize with peers,

  • Address common organizational challenges,

  • Prepare for future leadership roles.

Following the tremendous success of the IEEE Region 8 SYP Congress held in Grenoble in July 2024, we are excited to invite proposals for hosting one of the upcoming congresses. This year, we are restructuring the Cross-Sectional SYP Congresses into the following regional events:

  • IEEE Region 8 Central European SYP (CEuSYP)

  • IEEE Region 8 Nordic SYP (NSYP)

  • IEEE Region 8 Middle East and North Africa SYP (MENASYP)

  • IEEE Region 8 Western European SYP (WEuSYP)

  • IEEE Region 8 Africa SYP (ASYP)

Attached is a table detailing the assigned sections for each congress.

If you are interested in hosting one of these prestigious events, please consult with your IEEE Section Leadership and complete the proposal form by November 17th, 2024. The winning proposals will be announced by the end of 2024. Please note that to complete the form you will need an Endorsement Letter from your Section.
