IEEE Egypt Section Student Representative (SSR)

Call for Nomination

2024-2025

The IEEE Egypt Section is excited to announce that we are looking for a new IEEE Egypt Section Student Representative (SSR) 2024-2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to lead, inspire, and drive initiatives that benefit our student members.

Sectional Student Representative (SSR) serves as the central point of contact for all Student Branches’ Ex-Com, student volunteers, Student Branch Chapters and Student Branch Affinity Groups within the geographical boundaries of the Section. SSR should always communicate to the Section Ex-Com through the SAC Chair and keep the SAC Chair updated about all ongoing activities.

The SSR mission is to help bridge Student Branches by keeping IEEE student members informed of current activities and events within the Section and institute-wide so that student members can effectively network, learn, and cooperate as one body.

If you or someone you know is eager to make a significant impact and contribute to the growth of the IEEE community in Egypt, we encourage you to submit your nominations.

Appointment of SSR is made by the Egypt Section Executive Committee.

The SSR maximum term is 1 year, from the date of commencement, which will be August 1, 2024.

To be eligible to apply for SSR position, the volunteer must:

• Hold an active IEEE Student or Graduate Student Membership during the term.
• Must hold a leadership position in their Student Branch (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, or Committee Head).
• Reside in the geographic boundaries of Egypt.

Important Dates:

• Deadline for nominations: July 12, 2024.
• Face to Face interviews dates: July 23, 2024, to July 25, 2024.
• Results announcement date: July 28, 2024.
• Effective starting date: August 1, 2024.

The nomination call includes submitting via this submission form, a Full Document (in PDF format), Presentation (in PPTX format), and Video presentation for your plan (in MP4 format). The full document is to include the following:

• Your Vision for the SAC Egypt 2024 – 2025
• Your Mission for the SAC Egypt 2024 – 2025
• Your Objectives for the SAC Egypt 2024 – 2025
• Your Recommended Structure for the SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 with brief job description about each position (committee or individual)
• Your Management Strategy for the SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 (include clear alignment with the IEEE strategic plan 2020 - 2025)
• SWOT Environmental Analysis for SAC Egypt 2023 - 2024 and for the SBs in Egypt (submit TWO independent SWOT analyses)
• Proposed Programs for SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 with each of the following per each program:
  • Program Description
  • Program Objectives
  • Program Team Structure
  • Program Target Audience
  • Program Bottomline (least achieved KPIs)
• List of key global Initiatives and programs you target in 2024 - 2025 to work and align with then clearly mention how you as SSR in 2024 - 2025 will engage with them.
• Brief SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 Public Relations Plan (include at least 5 target event partners, 5 media agencies, and 5 online platforms direct contacts)
• Brief SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 Fundraising Plan (include at least 5 target sponsors with their direct contacts)
• Brief SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 Marketing Plan (include at least goals and channels)
• List of IEEE Key Global Initiatives, Programs, and Strategies that SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 target to work and align with then mention how will SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 engage with them.
• Brief Engagement Plan with SBs Counsellors in Egypt Section
• Brief Engagement Plan with Student Chapters (SCs) and Affinity Groups in Egypt Section
• Brief Succession Planning for the SBs Elections
• IEEE SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 Membership Awareness Plan (Core Target: keeping track of student branch membership, and make sure that the member count of each student branch does not drop below 10 members)
• Brief SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 SBs Cash Tracking Plan (propose new systems)
• Brief SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 SBs Capacity Building Plan
• SAC Egypt 2024 - 2025 for Officers Management Plan

Regarding the PPTX and video, you are required to submit a max 35 slides brief presentation highlighting the full most important pillar in your plan then present it in a max 10-minute video with slides and your face clear in.

Important notes:

• Make sure to submit all documents, presentations, and videos as IEEE branded. 
• Make sure that your face and slides are both presented in the recorded video.
• Make sure to attach the video in the form (drive links are allowed).
