Reminder: Call for Application - 2024 IEEE Summer Internships @ Orange Digital Center

Greetings from the IEEE Tunisia Section Committee. I am Mohamed Ali Zormati, the Section Volunteers Tools Coordinator and Orange Digital Center (ODC) Partnership Coordinator. Through its partnership with ODC, the IEEE Tunisia Section offers its members the opportunity to obtain summer internships in the IT sector. These internships, hosted by Orange, provide invaluable experience, skills development, and networking opportunities in various facets of information technology. It is worth noting that the results of all the proposed topics will ultimately contribute to the advancement of the IEEE Tunisia Section and the ODC.

 

To take advantage of this opportunity, IEEE members are encouraged to apply for one or more of the topics listed below. This initiative is designed to empower members by fostering their professional growth and equipping them with the skills necessary for a thriving career in the technology industry.

 

Project 1: Design and Implementation of a Machine Learning Pipeline for Invoice Validation for Units Accounting Platform.

This project is related to the IEEE Units Accounting Platform development. It involves enhancing the accounting platform by integrating an intelligent module for invoice validation. This module will include ML techniques to identify errors early in the process preventing delays. Currently, such errors are only detected when the section officer reviews the request, causing significant processing delays.

Internship period and host:
July and August 2024, hosted by Orange Digital Center, in ODC Marsa.

Opened positions:

  • (1) - ML Models Optimization Intern, Skills: DL and Computer Vision, Pytorch or Tensorflow, Efficient ML .
  • (1) - MLOps Intern, Skills: DL, Pytorch or Tensorflow, Backend Development, MLOps, MLflow.

 

Project 2: Design and Development of an Event Management Platform.

The internship project invites the trainee to develop an Event Box platform composed of various modules designed for managing event organisation. This platform aims to handle all aspects of event management, including participant registration, accommodation management, workshop scheduling and booking, real-time airport shuttle management with flight tracking integration, and more. The project focuses on creating an efficient solution to handle event organisation processes, ensuring a seamless experience for both organisers and participants.

Internship period and host:
July and August 2024, hosted by Orange Digital Center, in ODC Marsa.

  • (6) - Full Stack Web Developer Intern, Skills: MERN Stack.
  • (1) - DevOps Intern, Skills: Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, Ansible, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana.

 

Project 3: Design and Development of a Facility Reservation System for a University Campus.

Internees are invited to develop a platform that allows club presidents and university staff to check room availability and submit requests to book the venue for an event or meeting.The university administration will be able to review the submitted requests and approve or reject them.

July and August 2024, hosted by Orange Digital Center, in ODC Marsa.

  • (4) - Full Stack Web Developer Intern, Skills: MERN Stack.
  • (1) - DevOps Intern, Skills: Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, Ansible, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana.

 

We are therefore pleased to invite you, through this call for application, to join us in this amazing experience, which will be an ultimate opportunity to enhance your technical skills while improving the tools available to Tunisian IEEE volunteers. We invite you to fill out the application form and become part of our summer interns. A team composed of highly dedicated IEEE volunteers will be mentoring you, in collaboration with ODC which will provide additional training and technical support. Internships are hosted by ODC in Marsa Center, a very convivial venue.

 

Everyone is welcome to join the team. High technical skills, and motivation to expand skills and to contribute to the project, are appreciated, and pre-selection will be made based on the form submissions, and will be followed by interviews for final selection.
