Deadline approaching for Nominations - IEEE Italy Section SMCS Chapter Award for Excellence of Early Career Researchers - 2024
The IEEE Italy Section Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS) Chapter is pleased to solicit nominations to the 2024 Award for Excellence of Early Career Researchers (ECR).
The aim of this award is to recognize the outstanding contribution of an early career researcher to theory, technologies, and/or applications of systems science & engineering, human-machine systems, and/or cybernetics.
The selected candidate will be awarded a 500€ prize and a plaque during the IEEE CASE 2024 Conference, along with a public citation for the award on the IEEE Italy SMCS Chapter website. The awardee will be also invited to give a speech at the IEEE Italy SMC Day that this year will be celebrated in conjunction with the Special Session “Safe and Secure Human-Machine Interaction: a SMCS Contribution” at the IEEE CASE 2024 in Bari, August 28 – September 1, 2024.
Nominations:
The eligible candidate must be an Italian member of the IEEE SMC Society within 10 years from receiving the PhD degree as of January 01, 2024. The candidate must be nominated by members of the IEEE Italy Section SMC Society Chapter. An individual may nominate at most one candidate for this award. Nomination must be submitted via email to the chapter Chair with subject: “IEEE Italy SMCS Chapter Early Career Researcher Award – Nominee”.
A nomination application (as a single PDF file) must contain the following details:
• Name, affiliation, and email of person making the nomination (self-nominations are not eligible).
• Name, affiliation, and email of candidate for whom the award is recommended.
• A statement by the nominator (maximum of 500 words) as to why the nominee is highly deserving of the award both on excellence and in relation to IEEE SMC.
• CV of the nominee.
• Up two support letters from academic or industrial persons other than the nominator – these should be collected by the nominator and included in the nomination. Members of selection committee cannot be nominators or referees.
