Reminder: IEEE Estonia - Open Door Days in TalTech Residential DC Innovation Hub

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the IEEE Estonia IES/PELS/IAS/PES Joint Chapter, we are pleased to invite you to the Open Doors Day of the TalTech Residential DC Innovation Hub. TalTech Residential DC Innovation Hub is the unique research and demonstration facility developed by the Power Electronics Group of TalTech to increase public awareness of direct current (DC) technologies and facilitate Energy Transition in the building sector. Being one of the steps toward achieving climate neutrality of the TalTech campus by 2035, the TalTech Residential DC Innovation Hub is the first DC experience center in Northern Europe. Here, various DC technologies are implemented and tested, aiming to develop a DC microgrid for households. DC technology will change residential energy supply principles, optimize energy flows, and increase the energy efficiency of future buildings.
The Residential DC Innovation Hub aims to establish a link between leading researchers and green energy companies to boost innovation and accelerate the deployment of market-ready vendor-agnostic technology, standards, and power electronics DC solutions in Estonia and the EU. Zero-emission buildings based on DC distribution will play a crucial role in the future electrification of the economy toward a sustainable society.
The Open Doors Day will feature presentations of the Residential DC Innovation Hub, ongoing projects related to DC technologies, demonstration of DC technologies we already use in everyday life, a state of DC innovations in Estonia, and a DC quiz. Also, you will learn about the i3DC Initiative established by TalTech in cooperation with the Estonian and European industry.
We cordially invite everyone interested to attend the event! Visitors with any education level and prior background are welcome!
Regards,
Andrii Chub
Secretary, IEEE Estonia Section
