JOINT DISTINGUISHED LECTURE WORKSHOP


The IEEE Technical University of Kenya Student Branch is organizing a Distinguished Lecture program scheduled for May 17, 2024. This one-day event will host esteemed professionals and experts from various IEEE sister societies, including the Antennas and Propagation Society (APS), Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTTS), Electromagnetic Compatibility Society (EMCS), and Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS).

The aim of the Distinguished Lecture program is to facilitate knowledge sharing and discussions on cutting-edge advancements in the fields represented by the IEEE sister societies. By bringing together leading figures in these disciplines, the event provides a valuable opportunity for students, faculty members, and young professionals across the country to engage with the latest developments and insights.

The event will feature lectures delivered by renowned experts:

  1. Prof. Shiban Koul, from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, will speak on "Transmission Lines for High-Speed/High-Frequency Integrated Circuits," representing the IEEE EMC-S DL.
  2. Prof. Cristiano Tomassoni, from the University of Peruga, Italy, will discuss "Additive Manufacturing: Emerging Opportunities for Microwave Components" as the IEEE MTT-S DL.
  3. Prof. Atif Samim, from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia, will present on "Flexible, Wearable, Disposable Wireless Communication and Sensing Systems Through Additive Manufacturing" as the IEEE AP-S DL.
  4. Prof. Carlos Lopez Martinez, from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain, will cover the "Basics of SAR Polarimetry" representing the IEEE GRSS DL.
  5. Prof. Levent Sevgi, from Atlas University, Turkey, will share insights on "From Engineering EM to EM Engineering: Teaching/Training Next Generations" as the IEEE AP-S Past DL and IEEE AP-S DLPC Chair.
