The IEEE Region 8 Humanitarian Technology Activities Committee is inviting you to attend our IEEE SIGHT Day 2024 webinar on April 28th, where we get to gather IEEE volunteers and foster a spirit of community for the global SIGHT network. The main SIGHT Day events will take place during the last week of April, so we would like to invite you to host your own celebration and attend our IEEE R8 HTAC webinar entitled “Quality Education: Sustainable lifelong education”. We are thrilled to have Stamatis Dragoumanos, chair of the IEEE EAB pre-University Education Coordination committee, as our distinguished speaker.

During SIGHT Day, activities organized can be technical or non-technical and you can view some suggested activities on the official SIGHT website. Internal and external celebration collaborations between SIGHT Groups or other chapters are highly encouraged. SIGHT Groups that have celebrated or are going to celebrate IEEE SIGHT DAY are encouraged to share their event with us in order to post them on our social media and inspire volunteers. We are looking forward to your contributions, celebrations and willingness to impact the future utilizing humanitarian technologies!

Stamatis Dragoumanos is a senior IEEE member, a VOLT graduate, an HKN member, and a STEM champion. He is currently serving IEEE as the chair of the IEEE EAB pre-University Education Coordination Committee, as a member of the editorial Board of the Potentials Magazine, and member of the Institute Editorial Advisory Board.
