Electioneering IEEE Indonesia Section Chair 2025

Dear IEEE Indonesia Section members,
Following the election event at the end of last year, the Advisory Board and Members' Meeting decided that an early Section Chair Election for the Chair Elect 2025 should be organized. We aim to have a new Section Chair Elect in place by June 2024. The Section Chair Elect will participate in the Executive Committee's 2024 activities to ensure a smooth transition for 2025. This decision aligns with the IEEE bylaws, which require the newly elected Executive Committee to serve for the full one-year period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
On this occasion, following the pool candidacy meeting convened by the Advisory Board on March 12, 2024, and the subsequent final shortlist candidacy meeting on March 16, 2024, the board has decided to propose candidates for the IEEE Indonesia Section Chair 2024. The candidates proposed by the Advisory Board, listed in alphabetical order, are:
- Dr. Agnes Irwanti (Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI))
- Dr. Agnes Irwanti is a Supervisory Board Member of TVRI, she has been actively involved in IEEE since 2008, embarking on her journey as the Women in Engineering (WIE) Coordinator for the IEEE Indonesia Section (IEEE IS). Over the years, her dedication to IEEE has grown stronger, leading her to become an integral part of the executive committee for the IEEE Indonesia Section, where she currently serves as the Vice Chair for the term of 2023-2024. Her close links to the industry and the Government allow her to successfully serve in the Industry and Government Relations of IEEE IS since 2019, but she has also worked closely with researchers and academia through her previous participation in the IEEE IS Communications Chapter activities and her recent contribution to the Climate Change initiatives in IEEE IS and IEEE Region 10. Beyond her contributions in the Indonesia Section, Dr. Irwanti serves across Region 10 in various roles: Chair of the R10 WIE Committee for the year 2024; Chair of the R10 SYWL (Student/Young Professionals/Women in Engineering) WIE Session in 2024; Committee Member of the IEEE R10 Industrial Relations Committee from 2022 to 2024; Special Advisor to the ASEAN Industrial Roundtable on Climate Change within IEEE R10 in 2023; Jury member for the IEEE YESIST12 Preliminary Round 2022; General Chair for the R10 IEEE Leadership Summit in 2020; Member of the IEEE R10 Women in Engineering committee from 2019 to 2020; Treasurer for R10 SYWL in 2018; WPMC 2017 Organizing & Local Arrangement in 2017; Treasurer for TENSYM in 2016; TALE 2013 Local Arrangement in 2013.
