Travel Grants for Practicing Engineers to attend ICASSP 2024 [Deadline 20 Feb]

Dear IEEE UK and Ireland Signal Processing Chapter members,

If you are a "practicing engineer" (see definition below), you are looking for financial support to help you travel to attend ICASSP 2024 in person, and you do NOT have an accepted paper at ICASSP 2024, the IEEE UK and Ireland Signal Processing Chapter may be able to nominate you for an IEEE SPS Travel Grant for Practicing Engineers.

If you would like to be considered, please read on below, and send the information requested below to me, Mark Plumbley (m.plumbley@surrey.ac.uk) by **20 February 2024**.

We will consider applications received by the deadline, and select up to two to go forward as the nominations from the Chapter.

Best wishes,

Mark Plumbley

Chair, IEEE UK and Ireland Signal Processing Society Chapter

 * Consultant

 * Unemployed young professionals unaffiliated with universities

Applicants who are academics or students at universities will not be considered. Practicing engineers who have accepted papers at ICASSP will also not be considered.

Applicants who are selected to receive the grant are expected to (a) physically attend the in-person conference and (b) complete one of the following actions in acceptance of the travel grant funds:

* Write a short article about the conference for the Society’s newsletter

If you would like to apply to be nominated, please send the information below to the Chapter Chair, Mark Plumbley (m.plumbley@surrey.ac.uk) by **20 February 2024**

The Chapter will consider applications received by the deadline, and select up to two to go forward as the nominations from the Chapter.  Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

The Signal Processing Society will then review the nominations from all SPS Chapters, including the UK and Ireland Section SPS Chapter, and determine whether travel support will be awarded. Only a limited number of grants will be awarded, and on a highly competitive basis. There is no guarantee that a Chapter's nomination will be selected.
