Talk: Multivariate Measures of Statistical Dependence
Abstract: This talk presents a novel multivariate definition of statistical dependence using a functional methodology inspired by Alfred Rényi. Based on the normalized density ratio of the joint pdf between two random processes we show it is a positive definite function and therefore accepts an eigen decomposition. We show that the density ratio is a recursive bidirectional statistical mapping between conditional densities of continuous random processes, which directly estimates their statistical dependence.
