We as IEEE South Africa Section: Joint Control Systems / Robotics and Automation chapter, are co-hosting with Cars4Mars and the Robotics Association of South Africa, a competition, for pre-university STEM, and for other education levels, that entail a vehicle that is considered for the Mars environment. This competition might be of interest to different society members, as it requires different interest in space, automation, mechatronics, robotics, pattern recognition, computer, vehicle transportation, etc.

We hope this competition to create an interest, an excitement, and a bit of brainstorming by people of different levels, for challenges in the Mars environment. Sometimes the most simplistic ideas are the solution to complex problems :-) ...
