IEEE Hamilton Section: Newsletter September 2016

Greetings IEEE Hamilton Section Members of all Grades,

  1. Elections. IEEE Hamilton Section is seeking candidates for Section Executives for the 2017 Calendar Year.
    There are four positions open for election: Chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer and Secretary. There is online training / more information here: [link]

  2. Volunteer Positions are Open. Several positions are available and open to all members. These include Young Professionals, Consultants Network, etc. This is a great opportunity for student members from universities or colleges to add to their resumes in terms of experience. The positions give opportunity to network with other IEEE sections and in many cases with local industry. More information on our open positions [link].

  3. STAO. IEEE - the world's largest technical professional organization - promotes itself to the public in a number of ways. We are looking for someone to help promote the IEEE to science teachers of Ontario at their annual conference on Saturday November 12. If you are interested, please email jim.kozlowski@ieee.org

  4. AGM. This year's Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday November 26, 2016 at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Burlington. The speaker will be Annyse Balkwill. She will be speaking on learning how to lead from the position you are in, instead of waiting to be in a formal leadership position. More details will follow closer to the planned date.
