ISBI 2024 - IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging Call for Papers

ISBI 2024 - IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging, 27-30 May 2024, Megaron Athens International Conference CenterCall for Special Sessions and PapersThe IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI) is a scientific conference dedicated to the mathematical, algorithmic, and computational aspects of biological and biomedical imaging, across all scales of observation. It fosters knowledge transfer among different imaging communities, including technological, clinical and industrial communities, and contributes to an integrative approach to biomedical imaging. It offers an appealing environment for young researchers to pitch on their research and interact with a diverse network of scientists and experts in the entire spectrum of Biomedical Imaging. The 2024 edition will be an in-person meeting that will take place from 27 to 30 May 2024, in Athens, Greece. The Symposium will include tutorials, challenges, a pitch competition, and a scientific program comprising plenary talks, special sessions as well as oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed papers.
Deadline Approaching: Call for Special SessionsSubmit your Proposals by 15 October 2023ISBI seeks proposals for special sessions which should concentrate on critical and emerging topics in biomedical imaging. We expect these sessions to provide attendees with a broad overview of research work being done on a given topic. Additionally, the introduction of topics not traditionally represented at ISBI will allow us to broaden the ISBI community. We are particularly interested in topics that:- Give an overview on a focused topic of current interest to the ISBI community or sessions aiming to enhance collaborations between industry and academia- Represent areas of wide interest to the biomedical imaging community but coming from communities that do not traditionally attend ISBI (eg: pharmaceutical industry, medical doctors, biologists, instrument manufacturers).- Reflect increased activity in the community, such as specific focused topics related to AI in medicine. A list of suggested methodological and modalities keywords can be found on the web page.Submit your proposals by 15 October 2023. Learn more about the suggested topics and submission instructions here.
Call for PapersIn addition to the diverse imaging topics traditionally covered by ISBI on imaging acquisition, analysis, and biological/clinical application, this year we are particularly interested in enhancing the presence of very active topics including:- Challenging frontiers in AI for medical imaging: interpretability, domain shifts and adaptation, trustworthiness- The role of medical imaging in in silico modeling, precision medicine, and clinical applications- Virtual twins and medical imaging- Computational pathology, spatial transcriptomics, single cell analysis, and other tissue-based imaging methods. All submissions must be original and not under concurrent review at any other conference or journal. Accepted 4-page regular papers will be published in the symposium proceedings by IEEE Xplore. ISBI 2024 will use a single-blind reviewing process for full- length papers.Extended versions of selected ISBI2024 papers will be invited to submit to special issues in journals, including:
- Medical Image Analysis (Special Issue on histopathological/biological imaging)- Computer Vision and Image Understanding- Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal: Smart Hospital- Machine Learning for Biomedical ImagingSubmit your 4-page papers by 10 November 2023.
