Dear IEEE Region 8 Student Branch Chairs,

Dear Student Branch Counselors,

All IEEE Region 8 Student Branches (SBs) are invited to participate in the IEEE Region 8 Student Paper Contest – SPC 2024.  

Now is the opportune moment to seek out outstanding research conducted by graduate and postgraduate students (excluding Doctoral level) and inspire them to prepare submissions for SPC 2024.

Following the initial evaluation round, the IEEE R8 Student Activities Committee will invite authors of the top five papers to participate in the oral finals at the IEEE R8 flagship conference, MELECON 2024, to be held in Porto, Portugal, from June 25th to 27th, 2024. Exceptional cash prizes of $800, $500, and $200 await the winners of the first, second, and third places, respectively! In addition, the student branch of the first prize winner will receive a reward of $250! All five finalists’ papers will be published in the conference proceedings and the IEEE Xplore library.  

We kindly request that you carefully review the SPC Rules and follow the instructions provided to complete a SPC submission package. Submissions, along with the required documents, should be sent via email to r8sac@ieee.org. The submission deadline is December 1, 2023.

We encourage you to motivate students to prepare papers and participate in this esteemed R8 technical event.
