Hello, everyone!

I hope everything is going well with you all. I want to introduce the Student Chapter Committee (SCC) team in Region 9. My name is Amanda Fernandes, and I am currently the SCC Coordinator in R9, under the leadership of Anand Shah (2023 SCC Chair). 

In Region 9, we have representatives for each council, they will be willing to help you with any concerns related to PES Student Chapter. Our representatives are as follows:

• Brasil Council - Rosmânya Fonseca (rosmanya@ieee.org);
• Central Amer. & Panama Council - Aldair Najarro (aldair.alvarado@ieee.org);

• North Mexico - Luisa Magaña (luisa.lm@ieee.org);

Besides the representatives for each council, we have a coordinator for Events & Initiatives in R9 - Catleen Lozano (cn.lozanor@ieee.org).

This year's theme for our community is "Powering the Future Our Members". In this sense, our committee is available to help your SBC with any concern, we intend to provide you opportunities to power the leadership. For 2023, we are planning the following activities:

• Regular townhall;
• Virtual training;
• In-person leaders training;
