Speaker: 

Stephen Hopkins, Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Stephen Hopkins is currently the Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Cyber Justice League and Senior Systems Engineer at Computer Help. Stephen develops the processes, procedures, and tools to perform vulnerability assessments, prepare corrective action cyberdefense, and implement proactive cyberdefense. Stephen develops and supports IT infrastructures, server technologies, workstation technologies, web technologies and other information technology for multiple clients providing engineering consulting, cloud services integrations, and technical services. Prior to starting and growing Computer Help in 1997, Stephen was a Systems Engineer with Sverdrup Technology where he predicted system performance with digital simulations, analyzed system test data, identified system performance strengths and initiated engineering change for deficiencies.  Prior to joining Sverdrup, Stephen was the Lead Guidance Systems Engineer for the Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile Program for the Air Force where he supervised a Guidance Systems Branch responsible for the development of digital circuit boards and electromechanical assemblies as well as led an electromagnetic environmental effects group. 

Stephen holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy, a M.S. in Systems and Control Engineering from the University of West Florida, and a M.S. in Cybersecurity from the University of West Florida. Stephen is in the Air Force Reserves. Active in academics, he has mentored several students in the development of science fair projects for local, regional, and international competitions.  Active in the community, he has coached many youth sports teams, served as a board member for two youth sports programs, and served as the president of the Fort Walton Beach High School Band Parents Organization. He is married, has 1 son and 1 daughter and spends his time away from work studying robotics, working out in the gym, competing in cycling / powerlifting / archery, and participating in SCUBA diving.
